Aims of the Society
• Our aim is to protect and improve the districts environment, architectural heritage, open spaces, coastline and flora and fauna.• We have links with the Wirral Society and are affiliated to the Civic Trust.
• The Society is non-political and depends for its success on the support and enthusiasm of its members.
Lecture Programme
• A regular programme of meetings with guest speakers is held at the United Reformed Church Hall, Meols Drive, West Kirby, on Tuesday evenings at 8.00 p.m. from September to March. Visitors are always welcome.• Outings are arranged in the summer to places of architectural, historical and environmental interest.

Public Meetings
• Occasional public meetings are organised to ventilate subjects of special interest or controversy. In recent years meetings have been concerned with the Canopies, Blown Sand, Regeneration and the improvement of local parks and Open Spaces.Planning and Licensing Issues
• The Committee meets on a regular basis to monitor local planning and licensing applications and to comment constructively on schemes that affect the district. Our concern is to conserve what is good and to encourage the achievement of a high standard of design in new developments or in schemes of restoration.Membership
